ICA Web User Login - Changes explained

 

A number of changes have been made to the ICA web application User Login functionality in order to enhance data security in accordance with the PCI data security standards. 

 

All registered users logging on the ICA web application on or after November 15, 2008 will be directed to a new screen within ICA where they’ll be asked to update their User Profile.  The following user information must be verified and/or updated:

 

§         Verify or update first and last name

§         Verify or update User ID (User ID rules)

§         Change password  ( User password rules)

§         Provide email address  ( user email rules)

§         Select and answer secret question  ( Secret question explained)

Q:  Why where the ICA web user login changes implemented?

A:  These changes where made in order for ICA to comply with the PCI data security standards.

 

Q: When will these changes go into effect?

A: The ICA web application changes will be implemented on November 15, 2008.

 

Q:  Can I postpone updating my profile for a later date?

A:  No. Users logging on to the ICA web application successfully on or after November 15, 2008 will be directed to the new User Profile form.  Updating the user profile is mandatory in order to continue use of ICA.

 

Q:  Does everything in my user profile have to be updated?

A:  Everything in a user’s profile could be updated, including first and last name, except for the user ID, if it complies with the user ID format.

 

Q:  What are the rules for ICA user passwords?

A:  They must comply with user password format.   Users are encouraged to select passwords that are not too obvious to others.

 

Q:  What can I do if I forget my password?

A:  In the new ICA web application there is a button through which users can request to have their password reset.  A temporary password will be emailed to the email address in the ICA user profile.

 

 

 

Q:  What is the purpose of the email address in my user profile?

A:  The email address will be used to communicate the temporary password after a request for a password reset.

 

Q:  What happens if a ICA web user does not have an email account?

A:  The user must enter an email address under user profile.  In the event of a password reset, a temporary password needs to be emailed to the email account.

 

Q:  Can any email account be used in the ICA user profile.

A:  Yes.  Any valid email addresses is acceptable.

 

Q:  What is the purpose of the secret question?

The secret question/answer is introduced in order to enhance security. Selecting the chosen secret question and providing the correct answer are required for all user profile changes. 

 

Q:  Can the secret question/answer be changed?

A:   Yes.  A user can select a new secret question/answer combination upon successfully login into the ICA web application.

 

Q:  Where there any additional changes made to the ICA web application?

A:  All changes were implemented in order to support enhanced user login functionality.
